Blue Lagoon
The blue lagoon in Malta is incredibly beautiful and located on the small island of Comino. This is undoubtedly Malta’s most popular beach. If you like sunbathing and swimming, it is a must to go here. Blue Lagoon has crystal-clear turquoise water surrounded by limestone cliffs and a beautiful nature. Even if you only visit Malta for 2 days, the Blue Lagoon is definitely one of the must things to do on Malta!
The easiest way to get here is via ferry to Comino or to rent your own boat.

Comino
Comino is a small island located between Gozo and Malta. The island is best known for the blue lagoon, yet it has a lot more to offer. Comino is a paradise for divers, snorkelers, windsurfers and walkers.
The island is free from car traffic and has a very genuine and beautiful scenery. Around the Comino you often feel the pleasant scent of thyme and other herbs that grow wild.
Marsaxlokk
A charming little fishing village about 40-60 minutes by bus from Valletta. The village is mainly known for its Sunday market which is held every week and its many seafood restaurants. Along the harbor, you can see many of the traditional Luzzu boats with beautiful colors and the “protective eye.”
This small fishing village is one of Malta’s most charming attractions.
If you want to see more of the real Malta, you should make sure to visit Marsaxlokk and also the Sunday market, which is well worth a visit. You can easily get here by bus 81 or 85 from Valletta.
Gozo
Gozo is the second largest island of Malta and is more harmonious and scenic than the main island of Malta. Gozo is about 16 kilometers long and 8 kilometers wide. The pace is slower here, and the atmosphere is more authentic and rustic compared to the main island. If you like nature, hiking or want to learn more about Malta and its culture, a visit to Gozo is a must.
The easiest way to get here is via ferries from tourist sites or by ferry from Cirkewwa to Mgarr. According to legend, it is also here on this island that the nymph Calypso kept Odysseus as his love prisoner for seven years.

Valletta
Malta’s capital Valletta may be small in size but are nevertheless filled with historical and beautiful buildings, cozy cafes and restaurants along with two shopping streets. From here you can take all buses to various locations on the island. A visit to Malta is not complete without having been to Valletta.
Mdina & Rabat
Mdina is the former capital, and if you are interested in culture and history, it is a must to visit Mdina and Rabat. Many buildings and attractions are kept from far back in time.
Some attractions that should not be missed are Mdina Craft Village, St. Paul’s Grotto, Roman Villa, Mdina Dungeons, St. Paul’s Cathedral, the Royal Palace in Mdina and St Paul’s Catacombs.
The Malta Experience
Like history in general and want to learn more about Malta? Then go to The Malta Experience in Valletta. Here you will see an interactive film that tells the story of Malta’s 7000-year history. The film is in 4D and lasts about 45 minutes. After the film, you’ll visit the old infirmary as the “Knights of Malta” used.
One can also visit the Grand Master’s Palace which is now a museum in Valletta. If you like history and culture, you should plan a visit here. The Palace has a beautiful garden, weapons collections, paintings, statues and much more.
Golden Bay
This golden sand beach is located on the northwest coast and is arguably one of Malta’s best beaches. During peak season, many people come here, both families, young people, and seniors. You can go here easily by bus 44 from Valletta or bus 225 from the Sliema/St Julian’s.

Azure Window
Are you a fan of the TV series Game of Thrones? Then you will certainly recognize the Azure Window. This beautiful rock was used namely as the location for Daenerys Targaryen’s wedding to Khal Drogo. In addition to that, it is amazing to swim around in the beautiful crystal clear water, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the view either.
