Tokyo Sky Tree and Tokyo Tower
Tokyo Sky Tree, the world’s second-tallest building at 634 meters and offers spectacular views of Tokyo. Another high tower in the city is the Tokyo Tower, which is inspired by the Eiffel Tower in Paris. If you are in Tokyo, it is a must to visit one of these two towers.
Many of the best Airbnbs in Tokyo are located in this area, and the apartments are usually a bit larger than Airbnbs in the areas of Shibuya and Shinjuku.
City tour, food and pub crawl
Join a guided tour through Tokyo and experience the city at its best. There are many different tours to choose from, but the most popular is the city walk, food tour, and pub crawl. On the food, tour one will start by visiting the world’s largest fish market.
You also get the chance to try authentic and traditional sushi along with several other Japanese dishes. Pub crawl takes you to Tokyo’s best nightlife together with like-minded travelers.

Go to the Sumo Wrestling
Sumo wrestling is known worldwide and is one of Japan’s biggest sports. If you are in Tokyo or Japan should book tickets to a sumo wrestling match. There is clearly something different from what we Swedes are accustomed.
A good place to watch sumo matches is the Ryogoku Kokugikan. A Unique experience!
Shiatsu Massage
You might have already tried shiatsu massage, but if you’ve never been to Japan, chances are you have not experienced a true shiatsu massage. A visit to Japan is not complete without at least one traditional shiatsu massage. Definitely something to put on your Tokyo Itinerary!
Tokyo Disneyland Resort
Disneyland is every child’s dream and even many adults dream where you get to experience and meet your favorite Disney world character. See Cinderella’s Castle, visit Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, or why not see the palace from Aladdin? In addition, there are many rides and other fun activities.
Disneyland is very large, so plan at least a whole day here. If you like Disney or have children with them, this is one of the must things to do in Tokyo.
It’s also a lot cheaper than the Disneyland theme parks in the United States. It is recommended to buy Tokyo Disneyland tickets before your visit.

Temples and holy places
There is no lack of beautiful temples and holy places in Tokyo. To visit any of them is something we can heartily recommend. These are some of the best and most interesting: Sensoji Temple, Zojoji Temple, Meiji Shrine, Meiji Shrine, Asakusa Shrine, Sengakuji Temple and Hie Shrine.
Shopping
If shopping is your thing, you can be calm. Tokyo is namely a shopper’s paradise and there are probably more stores to go through than you have time during your stay. The largest districts for shopping is the hip Shibuya, Ginza and Shinjuku. Some shops not to be missed are: Uniqlo, 100 yen shops and Don Quixote.
Visit an Izakaya
Izakaya is equivalent to our pubs. This is where Japanese businessman goes after work to socialize and hang out. These are very special and different to regular pubs. To visit an izakaya is one of the best things to do in Tokyo.
Japanese gardens
Japanese gardens are incredibly beautiful and famous all over the world. Tokyo is no exception, and there are several gardens worth seeing. They are most beautiful during autumn or in the spring when the cherry trees bloom. Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden is one of the most beautiful and popular gardens in Tokyo.
Other worthwhile parks include Ueno Park, Yoyogi and Happoen Garden.
Go outside Tokyo
If You spend a few days in Tokyo; it might be worth getting out of town. For example, you have the fabulous mountain Mount Fuji is only two hours away by car. Around Mount Fuji, you can find several pagodas and an incredible natural beauty. Other places that are worth a visit if you are staying a couple of days are Yokohama, Kamakura, Izu Islands and Hakone.
