Akshardham is a modern temple that was built in 2005. The temple is magnificent with almost ridiculously many details and decorations. Good to know is that you are not allowed to bring anything in, which is a shame as you can’t take pictures inside. The security system works well, and there is no danger to leave your valuables. Akshardham temple is definitely a must place to visit when you are in New Delhi.
Gurudwara Bangla Sahib
Gurudwara Bangla Sahib is a friendly and welcoming temple with a harmonious atmosphere. Here, no one asks you for money, donating or something similar. Don’t miss to go into the temple and listen to when a Sikh band plays drums and sings.

Jama Masjid
This mosque was built during the Islamic Mughal empire. During this time, they built a number of historic buildings and temples. Jama Masjid is located to the right of Chawri Bazaar and New Delhi’s largest mosque. One thing that can be good to know is that it is free to enter the mosque, however, if you want to take pictures, it costs 300 rupees. Don’t want to take any photos? Then, just ignore people trying to get you to pay 300 rupees.
Dilli Haat
Dilli Haat is a craft area where you can shop for some of the best things to buy in India and sew clothes. Unlike Chandni Nagar & Chawri Bazaar, Dilli Haat is a quiet place. The atmosphere is friendly and more relaxed. This is a great place to shop for souvenirs and local crafts as well as trying some authentic dishes from all over India.
Chandni Chowk and Chawri Bazar
If you like food, this is the place for you; here you will namely find hundreds of food stalls and restaurants serving Indian and Asian food. Prices are low, and the supply is large and varied. Other than that there are also good opportunities for shopping bargains.
