Altstadt – Old Town

Something that cannot be missed when exploring Salzburg, is to visit the historic city center. In Salzburg’s old town, one can easily walk around for a few hours without getting tired, since there’s so much to see and do there.

Altstadt has a lot to offer if you want to spend a nice day in Salzburg. Here you can visit beautiful churches, have a look in shops, have a cup of coffee, see Mozart’s birthplace, see the fantastic views up at the fortress and wander through the district’s small pedestrian streets.

Salzburg’s Fortress

A visit to Salzburg’s fortress is a must during your stay in the city. Salzburg’s fortress is an interesting place to explore, and it has several exhibitions to have a look at and a lot of Austrian history to learn.

The fort also offers a superb view of the city and has a beautiful courtyard with a lovely café where you can enjoy a nice cup of tea or a light snack.
