Universeum – Avoid this attraction
We at Destinavo.com do not support attractions that use animals for entertainment. Universeum is, unfortunately, one of the most popular things to do in Gothenburg, and that’s why we have included this “attraction” in this list. The reason why we mention this place is to inform you about how wrong it is. Universeum is a zoo that keeps both marine animals and tropical animals behind bars. These animals are meant to live in the wild, not in captivity.
Imagine yourself being in their position. You’re locked up in the same place all day, and there’s almost always people around who talks loud and watch your every move. Always remember; if it’s not ok towards humans, it’s not ok towards animals.
Please, do not support any activities that involve animals while traveling the world.
Avenyn
Right in the center of Gothenburg lies the famous Avenue “Avenyn,” the city’s own entertainment street. Here you will find a good mix of popular shops and attractions such as the art museum, the city theater, the concert hall and the cool statue of Poseidon. In addition to great shopping and plenty of attractions, there’s also a great selection of restaurants and cafes, which lies close to each other along the street.
If you want to experience the nightlife of Gothenburg, then it’s to Avenyn that you should head for! Here you’ll find some of the biggest and most popular clubs and bars on town!
