Next winter season Fritidsresor becomes the first charter company to fly directly to the holiday paradise of Phu Quoc in Vietnam.

In March, Fritidsresor will offer charter packages to Vietnam’s largest island Phu Quoc. At this time there will be just three departures next winter, but the winter of 2016-17, the flights to go every week.

– We could get underway hotel cooperation in March, so we are running out of time. It’s just the first start, next winter we are there all season, said Fritidsresor Communications Mathias Bergendahl.

Phu Quoc is one of the most popular places to visit in Vietnam and every year it continues to receive more and more tourists. Long Beach is the most popular beach and this is also where most tourists are booking their accommodation.

However, there are lots of beautiful places to discover in Phu Quoc, such as the inland as well as the surrounding islands. Some of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam are located here, and sunseekers from all over the world come here for their holidays.

Scandinavians and Europeans especially come during the winter months, which is also the best time to visit the island.

Already 10 years ago the first charter flights were organized to Phu Quoc. These were not particularly long, and Phu Quoc quickly disappeared from the catalog. One reason may have been that it was simply too complicated to get there. The island lacked at this time an international airport, but a few years ago, an international airport was completed and ready to receive intercontinental flights. Fritidsresor will be the first to offer direct flights from Sweden.

Apollo also adds trips and accommodation on Phu Quoc in its catalog

Apollo also chose to invest in the Vietnamese paradise island next winter. Apollo will be offering charters with stopovers and in combination with Ho Chi Minh City.

In our eyes, it is both positively and negatively that the charter companies are getting to Phu Quoc. The Vietnamese paradise island is largely untouched and can be compared to the Phuket, and other parts of Thailand, and how they were about 30 years ago.

Obviously, we think it’s great that more people have the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful island paradise, but we also hope that Phu Quoc can retain its genuine and charming feel without that tourism takes over completely.

There are many nice beaches to discover on Phu Quoc. The classic night market and the National Park which consists of an untouched tropical rainforest are two other highlights. Have you already been to Thailand and feel you want to try something new, you should definitely focus your attention on Phu Quoc.

You can easily get here with a flight from Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh as well. There are also direct flights from Bangkok that could be an option, if you’re already traveling around in Southeast Asia. You don’t have to book a holiday package to get here because it’s actually often cheaper if you decide to book everything on your own.
