Raja Ampat<\/h2>\n

Raja Ampat is an archipelago<\/a>, consisting more than 1,500 islands and reefs. Some studies indicate that Raja Ampat has the highest marine biodiversity in the world. Here you will find some of the best diving sites in Indonesia<\/a>, and it’s not surprising at all that divers come from all over the world to explore the abundant marine life.<\/p>\n

Raja Ampat is incredibly beautiful and a must among the top things to do in Indonesia.<\/p>\n

Flores Island<\/h2>\n

Flores has much to offer its visitors, both when it comes to nature and culture, but also a rich history. In 2003 an incredible find was discovered on this island. What they discovered was a relative of humans, Homo Floresiensis. This is the so-called dwarf people, also known as hobbits. These people lived on Flores Island 12,000 years ago.<\/p>\n

All across Flores<\/a>, you can climb both volcanoes and mountains, and there’s plenty of hiking trails for you to enjoy. Flores is also one of the three islands where the Komodo Dragon lives naturally in the wild.<\/p>\n

There are several places to go in Bali<\/a> that offer everything for that perfect vacation, including beaches, luxury hotels, cultural experiences and much more. <\/p>\n

Lombok and Gili Islands<\/h2>\n

Lombok is an island that’s similar to Bali. Just like in Bali, you’ll find paradise beaches in abundance and a volcanic landscape. The thing that differs Lombok and Bali from each other is that Lombok is not as commercial, and there are also fewer tourists visiting. Just off the northwest coast, you’ll also find the three famous islands, Gili Islands.<\/p>\n

There are many things to do on the Gili Islands<\/a>, and it’s truly one of the best destinations in Indonesia. <\/p>\n

Bukit Lawang<\/h2>\n

Bukit Lawang is a small tourist village located in the northern Sumatra Province in Indonesia. Bukit Lawang is best known for being home to over 5,000 orangutans, who lives in an animal sanctuary. The work that’s done here is incredibly important to save the orangutans from extinction.<\/p>\n

If you like nature and animals, especially orangutans, then this is one of the top things to do in Indonesia for you.<\/p>\n

Lake Toba<\/h2>\n

Lake Toba is located at Indonesia’s largest island, Sumatra. Lake Toba is both Indonesia’s largest lake and the world’s largest volcanic lake with an area of 1130 square kilometers.<\/p>\n

Komodo National Park<\/h2>\n

The National Park consists of both Rinca Island, Komodo Island, and several smaller islands. Here live the giant lizards, known as the Komodo dragons<\/a>.<\/p>\n

These animals move freely on the island, so it’s important always to have a local guide with you, and it’s recommended that you go on one of the Komodo National Park tours from Labuan Bajo<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The Komodo dragon has a very deadly poison, and in addition to that, they can move fast enough to catch up with a human.<\/p>\n

However, it’s an incredibly cool experience to see these giant lizards wander around the island, and if you like to dive, Komodo National Park offers world-class diving.<\/p>\n

This is a region located in the highlands of South Sulawesi. Torajaland is home to the Toraja people, who are known for their houses with upward-pointing roofs and their spectacular, but somewhat frightening funeral rituals.<\/p>\n

Hike up Mount Rinjani and enjoy the stunning views and scenery that includes several waterfalls and lush forests. Mount Rinjani is a volcanic mountain that’s 3726 meters high. This place is sacred among the locals, and the hiking trail is considered to be one of the best in Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n

Yogyakarta<\/h2>\n

Yogyakarta is “another world” that’s worth visiting. Yogyakarta is full of cheap shopping, cultural and historical sites.
